Soldering is a very simple but complicated task. I watched some soldering today in person, and it was an interesting experience, while we were doing some work on my own laptop (that had a broken charging port). We had many issues, including but not limited to us, melting extra stuff on accident (we didnt have heat tape), and the part being bent out of the gate. However, we did get the part in. But it wont turn on anymore, and I dont have the tools to diagnose that. I will replace this laptop (as school is starting and I really need one).
Soldering is worth it in the end, it is an extremely useful skill. If you have something broken that might need to be soldered, it is worth it to at least try and learn the skill. Despite having destroyed a motherboard, it was a experience worth happening. I highly recommend atleast trying once whenever you have the opportunity. It is worth it.
sorry for the short post, but it's late (we was soldering for a long time)
