This more is just of a rant type blog post, instead of having much of a point to it.

Why now?

Well first off, see this Louis Rossmann Video. Clippy has somewhat of become a simple for a simpler time when our computers werent vigorously spying and reporting back information back to companies. Despite it being at the time just seemingly unneeded, and much in the way of productive writing, it did at least try to help. Despite being very simple and primitive, we saw what at the time would become our current AI craze.

The cycle repeats

AI now has been shoved down our throats, in much the same way that clippy was. However now, what we get is machine generated output that tries to in some way imitates a person. The downward sprial that continues to consume every single product and service that dares to be backed by venture capital, is still alive and well. Clippy in some way was a signal of that We shall force this onto you mindset that continues with Microsoft this day. Of course this mindset seems to stem from the mindset that is to move fast and break things, in in some way is something that I respect, because I do it myself. However, to be doing this on such a scale is what angers people, if AI was not forced down everyones throats, there wouldnt of been such a vulgar response to it. Of course the small niche set of people that continues to focus on tech and make it there life (like me!), will rebel to what we consider to be bad. However, if many normal people were not forced down this path, there would have never been such a big movement, or the massive anti-AI propaganda (using that word for its meaning, EVERYTHING IS PROPAGANDA!) that is on the internet today. Just as a quick example, this NPR, is in some ways just a reflection of the peoples response to AI today. Just looking at this Pew research study, shows that people are becoming more concerned with it as it progressively goes more into the zeitgeist of the public realm. Clippy is a symbol of a time long gone now, of more simple engineering and in what felt in some way like a human was engineering the product, instead of the current day machine-made feeling that we live in. Humanity is no longer the norm on the public internet, it is full of machine-made articles and AI is behind a lot of this. We see AI Youtubers flooding the platform, as a goldrush of Faceless Youtubers continues to be sold to those who think that doing the same thing as I have in my life (being lazy), is the way to make money. That money might be there for now, but people absolutely despite this slop content.

Anyhow, Clippy is Gangsta
